About Tim

College at Indiana University got me interested in Telecommunications, to go along with my other major in Spanish.  After studying a year in Madrid, Spain, I ended up interning at STAR 88.3 in 1992 right before graduating and they thankfully offered me a job at the end of that summer.  I spent sixteen years at STAR, working almost every shift and trying to learn all I could about radio.

In 2008, everything changed and my wife and two kids and I moved to Quito, Ecuador to do missions work in Radio Training and Medicine (my wife is a family practice doc).  On the way, we had kid #3 in Costa Rica, and then got settled in Quito.  We still miss it!  Quito is beautiful, with fall-like weather all the time and volcanoes surrounding the city (we even lived on one of them!)  But after almost four years there, God brought us back to Fort Wayne in July of 2012.  My wife took a job on the faculty of a family practice residency and I ended up back at STAR 88.3!

I’m from Fort Wayne and graduated from Carroll High School.  I’m a die-hard Cubs fan and have been my whole life!  I’ve taught my kids to be the same, for better or worse.  Lately, they’ve been pretty good!  We’re trying to keep my kids’ Spanish up and have been blessed to go back and visit friends in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Guatemala over the years.

We love to travel and having friends in far-away places gives us an excuse to head out and explore!

I’m glad to be at STAR 88.3 and love to hear my kids sing along to the station.  I’m sure you love it when your kids do, too!
